Services

Tax work built around retirement decisions

The biggest tax decisions in retirement happen before the return is filed. We help you see them coming and understand the tax cost of each choice.

01

Free tax return review

Send your most recent return. We review it line by line and show you where you stand: your bracket, how your Social Security is taxed, Medicare premium thresholds, and opportunities you may be missing.

02

Tax preparation

Individual federal and state returns, prepared and filed electronically. Pensions, IRA distributions, Social Security, investment income, and foreign accounts are routine here.

03

Tax planning

Year-round projections so there are fewer surprises in April. Bracket management, estimated payments, required minimum distributions, and timing of income.

04

Pension lump sum vs. annuity

A side-by-side look at how each payout option is taxed, this year and over time, so you understand the tax side before you sign your election form.

05

Roth conversions

How much could you convert while staying in your current bracket? We model the tax cost, the effect on Medicare premiums, and the timing across several years.

06

IRS letters and notices

Got a letter from the IRS? As an Enrolled Agent, Steven can respond on your behalf and represent you before the IRS, so you don't have to handle it alone.

Tax planning questions sound like…

  • Am I paying too much in taxes?
  • How do my investment decisions affect my tax bill?
  • When will tax rates go up?
  • Should I convert my IRA to a Roth?
  • What accounts should I draw from?

A second look at the return you already filed

Most people never see what their own tax return is telling them. We translate it into plain English and point out what is worth a closer look. There is no cost and no obligation.
